13.2 Academy-Level Settings

Academy Settings control the global configuration of your academy including its name, branding, communication details, and default experience settings for students. Changes made here affect the academy as a whole, not just your individual profile.
How to Access Academy Settings
Open the account menu in the academy sidebar.
Select Academy Settings from the dropdown menu.
Academy Settings are organized into seven sections: General, Branding, Domain, Email, Notifications, API & Webhooks, and Billing. General contains the Identity and Defaults subsections, and Branding contains Visual Identity.
Identity
The Identity section under General controls the core identifying information of your academy as it appears on the platform.
Setting | Description |

Academy Name | The name of your academy as displayed across the platform and in all student-facing communications |
Sender email | The address outgoing email is sent from, shown read-only on the General page and managed in the Email section |
Communication email | The support contact address shown in the footer of outgoing emails |
Set your communication email to an actively monitored address, ideally a shared team inbox rather than a personal email.
Visual Identity
Visual Identity settings under Branding allow you to replace EdisonOS's default branding with your own academy's visual identity. Access to this section is controlled by academy settings permissions.
Setting | Description |

Logo | Upload your academy's logo displayed in the platform header and student-facing screens |
Favicon | Upload a favicon (small browser tab icon) that represents your academy |
For the best visual result, upload a logo with a transparent background (PNG format recommended). A logo with a white background box can look out of place depending on the platform's header color.
Defaults
The Defaults section under General controls platform-wide behaviors that apply to students as their baseline settings.
Setting | Description |
|---|---|
Timezone | Sets the default time zone applied to all newly enrolled students |
Important behavior to understand:
Changing the academy time zone will automatically apply to all students enrolled after the change is saved.
Students who were already enrolled before the change will keep their current time zone setting.
Existing students can update their own time zone individually from their own profile settings.
