11) What is the difference between Unvisited and Skipped questions?
About this FeatureÂ
The Question Navigator feature indicators in the Student Response Review help educators understand how students interacted with each question during an assessment. Questions that remain unanswered are categorized as either Unvisited or Skipped, allowing educators to distinguish between questions that were never opened and those that were viewed but left unanswered.
The Idea Behind ItÂ
Simply knowing that a question was unanswered does not provide enough insight into a student's test-taking behavior. By differentiating between Unvisited and Skipped questions, educators can better understand whether a student ran out of time, missed certain questions entirely, or intentionally chose not to answer after reviewing them. These insights help identify pacing issues and support more meaningful performance analysis.
Navigate to: Program → Reports → Student Response Review → Question Navigator
Steps to view the Unvisited and skipped questions
Open the required Program.
Navigate to Reports.
Select the required test and click View Report for the student.
Open the Student Response Review tab.
Use the Question Navigator to review the status of each question, including Answered, Unvisited, and Skipped.
Unvisited
An Unvisited question is a question that the student never opened or viewed during the test.
This status indicates that the student did not navigate to the question before submitting the test or before the test ended. Since the question was never accessed, the student did not spend any time viewing or attempting it.Â
Example:
A student completes Questions 1–20 in a 25-question test and submits the test without opening Questions 21–25. Questions 21–25 are marked as Unvisited.
Skipped
A Skipped question is a question that the student opened and viewed but did not answer.
This status indicates that the student accessed the question but left it unanswered. The student may have planned to return to it later or intentionally decided not to answer it.
Example:
A student opens Question 11, reads it, moves to Question 12 without selecting an answer, and submits the test without returning to Question 11. Question 11 is marked as Skipped.
The question palette also uses color indicators to help you identify these statuses at a glance:
Grey – Unvisited: The student never opened or viewed the question.
Yellow – Skipped: The student opened the question but left it unanswered.
Understanding the difference between Unvisited and Skipped questions helps educators accurately analyze student responses and test-taking behavior. These statuses provide clarity on whether a student did not reach a question or viewed it but left it unanswered, helping educators identify pacing issues and gain better insights into student performance.
12) How do you identify which skill is the strength of the student after a diagnostic test?
About this FeatureÂ
The Skill-Difficulty Heatmap in the student's performance report provides a skill-wise analysis of diagnostic test results. It displays performance across different domains and categorizes each skill based on the student's level of proficiency, helping educators quickly identify strengths and learning gaps.
The Idea Behind ItÂ
Every student has unique strengths and areas that require additional support. Instead of relying only on overall scores, the Skill-Difficulty Heatmap provides detailed insights into individual skills, enabling educators to personalize instruction, assign targeted practice, and develop more effective learning plans based on each student's performance.Â

Understanding the Skill-Difficulty Heatmap
The Skill-Difficulty Heatmap displays a student's performance across different skills within each domain, making it easy to identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Expand a Domain to view the individual skills and their performance levels. Skills with higher performance indicate the student's strengths, while skills with lower performance highlight areas that may require additional practice and focused instruction.
Performance Levels
The Skill-Difficulty Heatmap categorizes student performance into the following levels:
Strong (≥ 80%) – The student demonstrates a strong understanding of the skill and consistently performs well.
Needs Practice (40%–79%) – The student has a moderate understanding of the skill and would benefit from additional practice.
Needs Improvement (< 40%) – The student requires additional support and focused practice to improve their understanding of the skill.
Example
If a student performs well in Algebra but has lower performance in Geometry, Algebra can be identified as the student's strength, while Geometry may require additional practice.
