3.8 Problem Sets Overview
A problem set is a focused collection of questions grouped around a specific domain, skill, or topic. Unlike a full-length practice test, a problem set is shorter and targeted designed to help students practise a particular area rather than simulate a complete exam.
Problem Set Types
Each problem set is tagged with one of three delivery types:
Type | What it means |
|---|---|
Linear | Questions are delivered in a fixed order |
Question Adaptive | Question difficulty adjusts based on student responses, with a maximum of 30 questions per set |
Random | Questions are pulled randomly from the set each time |
Assign or Preview
From the Problem Sets view, each set has two quick actions:
Assign - send the problem set directly to one or more students
Preview - review the full problem set before assigning it
Use problem sets immediately after a diagnostic test to target the specific domains where a student struggled. This focused practice is the fastest path to measurable improvement.
