3.7 Practice Tests Overview
A practice test in EdisonOS is a structured, timed assessment that replicates the format of the actual SAT exam. Practice tests can be assigned to students directly, previewed before use, and tracked through reports to monitor student progress over time.
Start with the EdisonOS Library tests for immediate use, and build custom tests in My Library when you need content tailored to your students.
Types of Practice Tests
When creating a practice test, EdisonOS offers three options:
1. Full-Length Test - Official SAT Format
A complete SAT simulation covering both Reading & Writing and Math, with Baseline and Adaptive sections.
Section | Type | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
Reading & Writing - Baseline | Linear | 27 | 32 mins |
Reading & Writing - Adaptive | Adaptive | 27 | 32 mins |
Math - Baseline | Linear | 22 | 35 mins |
Math - Adaptive | Adaptive | 22 | 35 mins |
2. Module Test - Pick a Module
A single-module test for targeted practice. Students take either the Reading & Writing module or the Math module not both. Ideal for focused preparation on one section at a time.
Section | Type | Questions | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
Reading & Writing -Baseline | Linear | 27 | 32 mins |
Reading & Writing -Adaptive Lower & Upper | Adaptive | 27 | 32 mins |
3. Build from Scratch - Fully Custom
Create a completely custom test using questions from your own library or the EdisonOS Library. You have full control over question selection, structure, and timing.
Full-Length Tests mirror the actual digital SAT format - a Linear Baseline module followed by an Adaptive module that adjusts based on student performance. This makes them the closest simulation to test day.
